Display Ads
Updated over a month ago

As part of Realize, we are introducing two new creative types: Display & Vertical ads.

The display and vertical betas are for Advertisers who are targeting mid-funnel KPIs ( i.e. CTR) and are looking to drive engagement during prospecting campaigns. These creative formats are not recommended for advertisers focused solely on bottom funnel outcomes.

Please reach out to your Account Manager if you are interested or have any questions.

This page covers the upload process for display assets, including static or video vertical creative. To upload Vertical Native ads, please visit this page.

During campaign setup, you will select whether you are using Native or Display formats. When you choose display and you have completed your campaign setup and are ready to add creatives, you will be directed to this screen for display ads.

There are three ways to upload display ads: Hosted, 3rd Party, and Social Ad. This document will break down the first two options. To learn about our Social Importer, please click here.

Hosted:

Display Ad type “hosted” means you will be uploading the file type in different ratios one by one.

Insert “Ad name” this will be used to identify your ad in creative reporting.

Tip: Add your aspect ratio i.e. Creative 1 300x250 in the ad name to help you analyze performance. Ad size will be added to reporting at a later date. Be sure to add the landing page you want this ad to click out to.

Now you have reached the area you will upload your media file. Below are the files types that are accepted and different upload requirements

Option 1: Images:

  • Supported file types: JPEG, JPG, PNG, GIF

  • Maximum file size: 2MB

Option 2: Video:

  • Supported file types: MP4

  • Maximum file size: 200MB

  • Minimum video length: 5 seconds

  • Maximum video length: 30 seconds

  • This can include audio. The video will automatically start playing but will be muted. Users can unmute the video if they wish.

Option 3: HTML5

  • Uploaded as a single ZIP file

  • Maximum ZIP file size: 2MB compressed

  • ZIP file structure:

    • Root folder containing all necessary files

    • Index.html file must be in the root of the ZIP file

    • Supported file types within ZIP: HTML, JS, CSS, JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, SVG

    • Maximum of 100 files per ZIP

  • Individual file size limits:

    • Must include a static backup image (JPG, PNG, or GIF) for browsers with JavaScript disabled

Once you have uploaded your image or HTML5 File please select your Ad Dimensions.

TIP: For maximum campaign reach upload your banners in these IAB standard dimensions: 300×250, 300x600, 320x50, 728x90, 970x250, 160x600, 250x250

Please note: Display ads will render only where they can fit without any automated cropping or padding.

Finally, in the “Additional Setup” section, you have the option to include a Custom ID. This ID can then be transmitted to your internal reporting or third-party tracking tags.

For now, you'll need to upload each ad size one by one as outlined above. We're planning to add bulk uploading for multiple ad sizes in 2025. Also, some display placements aren't fully supported by our ad preview tool yet. We'll add full support for all placements when the beta phase ends.

3rd Party:

The next option to upload a display ad is via 3rd party tags. This means adding a third-party tag from ad servers.

When you add a recognized third-party display ad tag, click tracking and cache busting macros will be inserted automatically. If the tag is not recognized, you'll have to insert the click macros yourself. Click marcos are mandatory in order to pass back click data.

The ad servers we accept are: TKTK

Once you select your 3rd party tag. Please fill in Adname and the landing page url.

Tip: Add your aspect ratio i.e. Creative 1 300x250 in the ad name to help you analyze performance. Ad size will be added to reporting at a later date. Be sure to add the landing page you want this add to click out to.

Under the Media section, select the ad size you are uploading and then paste your 3rd party tag in the open box below.
